The latest Agency action is integrating identity verification into the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse registration process. Starting April 27, 2026, users who register for certain Clearinghouse accounts will need to prove their identity using a secure web application. This update applies to new registrations for the following user roles: Employer Without a Portal Account Consortium/Third-Party Administrator (C/TPA) Medical Review Officer (MRO) Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) Assistants invited to register under another registered entity Learn more about this update in Clearinghouse News. Return-to-Duty for CDL Drivers CDL and CLP holders that have a “prohibited” status in FMCSA’s CDL Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse will lose their commercial driving privileges until the driver completes the return-to-duty process.
