Billing, in plain terms

What counts as an event?
One event = one ingested row. A run report consumes 1 + spans + log events: a bare run is exactly 1 event; a run with 4 spans and 2 log lines is 7. The free tier covers about 1,428 such runs a month, or 10,000 bare runs. Spans and log events are optional — you control the meter.
What happens when I hit my monthly limit?
Ingest returns 403 and pauses until the next calendar month (or an upgrade) — we never overage-bill you. Your dashboard and existing data stay available the whole time, and the Billing page shows a live usage bar that warns at 80%.
Are there per-seat fees?
No. You pay a flat monthly price based on event volume only — never per user, unlike per-seat or per-unit-overage pricing elsewhere in the category.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Signing in with an email link creates a free workspace with 10,000 events a month. Card details only exist once you choose a paid plan, and only inside Stripe — we never see them.
What does retention mean?
How long detailed run and span data is kept before automatic deletion: 7 days on Free, up to 180 days on Pro. Upgrade before you need history, not after.
Do journey canaries run automatically on the free plan?
Free includes 1 journey canary with manual runs. Scheduling (recurring runs) and alerting on canaries start on Starter. Alert delivery channels (Slack, webhook, email) are also a paid feature.
Which plans include watches?
All paid plans. A watch re-runs any free-tool check (crawler access, llms.txt, readability, …) on a schedule, diffs the result, and alerts you on regression. The one-off checks themselves stay free forever.
Can I cancel or change plans any time?
Yes. Plan switches prorate; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period and your plan reverts to the free tier, with data aging out at free-tier retention.
